About your app

The checklist

Not sure? Choose "Not sure". It goes on your list as something to check.

Logins and access

CriticalEvery page and API that shows private data checks who is signed in on the server, not just by hiding buttons.
CriticalUsers can only read and change their own records, and you've tested it signed in as two different users.
ImportantSign-up, email verification, password reset and sign-out all work on your real domain.
ImportantRoles (admin, staff, customer) are stored on the server and can't be changed from the browser.

Secrets and security

CriticalNo API keys or secret tokens are in your frontend code or your git history.
ImportantEvery form and API endpoint checks its input on the server: type, length and format.
ImportantLogin, sign-up and contact forms have a rate limit or a bot check.
Good practiceYour packages are up to date, with no critical warnings from npm audit (or similar).

Data and backups

CriticalYour live app uses its own production database, and real users never see test data.
CriticalBackups are switched on, and you've restored one at least once.
ImportantDatabase changes are saved as repeatable migrations, not only clicked in a dashboard.
ImportantYou know where personal data is stored, and you can delete a user's data when they ask.

Payments

CriticalAccess is granted by a payment webhook from Stripe (or similar), not by the 'payment successful' page.
ImportantYou've tested a failed card, a cancelled subscription and a refund, end to end.
ImportantLive payment keys are set in production, and test keys only in testing.

AI features

CriticalAI provider keys are only used on the server.
ImportantThere is a spending cap or a per-user limit on AI calls.
ImportantThe AI can only see data the current user is allowed to see.

Domain, email and search

ImportantThe app runs on your own domain, not the builder's address (lovable.app, bolt.host, replit.app).
ImportantEmails (sign-up, password reset, receipts) come from your domain and land in the inbox, not spam.
ImportantSearch engines can read your public pages: they don't look empty without JavaScript.
Good practiceEach public page has its own title and description (not 'Lovable App'), and there's a sitemap.

Ownership and monitoring

CriticalThe code is in a repository you own, and you know how to export your data.
ImportantHosting, domain, database and payment accounts are in your (or your company’s) name.
ImportantYou'll find out when something breaks (error alerts or monitoring) before your users tell you.

What it checks

The 25 things that break when real users arrive

AI app builders are great at getting an idea on screen. These are the parts a demo skips, and the ones that matter once people sign up, store data and pay you.

Logins and access

Who can see and change what, checked on the server, and auth flows that work on your real domain.

Secrets and security

API keys out of the browser, server-side validation, rate limits and up-to-date packages.

Data and backups

A real production database, tested backups, repeatable migrations and personal-data basics.

Payments

Access granted by webhooks, failed cards and refunds tested, live and test keys kept apart.

AI features

AI keys on the server, spending limits, and AI that only sees what the user may see.

Domain, email and search

Your own domain, emails that reach the inbox, and pages Google can actually read.

Ownership and monitoring

Code and accounts in your name, a data export you have tested, and alerts when things break.

Who it's for

Non-technical founders, small business owners and startup teams who built an MVP, a SaaS product or an internal tool with an AI app builder or vibe coding, and want to know what's missing before real customers, real data and real payments arrive. It works for apps on Supabase, Firebase, Replit's database or Base44's backend, and for internal AI tools and workflows as much as customer-facing products.

Want the detail behind each question? Start with the Lovable to production checklist or the vibe coding security checklist. If you'd rather have it fixed for you, that's what an app rescue does. And if you're starting from scratch, see MVP and SaaS development orinternal tools.

Questions

About the readiness check

Is this production readiness check really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no email, and your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to contact me with your results.

Is a Lovable app production ready?

Lovable generates real React code with Supabase behind it, which is a good starting point. Whether it is ready depends on the parts a demo skips: access rules, secrets, payments, backups and your own domain. This check covers exactly those.

Which builders does it work for?

Apps built with Lovable, Bolt.new, Replit, Base44, Claude Code, Cursor or written by hand. The questions are the same, and you get extra hints for the builder you choose.

What should I answer if I'm not sure?

Choose "Not sure". It counts as not done, because an unchecked risk is still a risk, and it goes on your fix list as something to check.

How is the score calculated?

Each question is weighted: critical issues count three times, important ones twice, good practice once. The score is the share you have covered. Any critical "No" means the verdict is "Not ready yet", whatever the score.

Does this replace a security audit?

No. It is a self-check that catches the most common gaps in AI-built apps. A proper audit looks at your actual code, data rules and setup.

What do I do with a low score?

Start at the top of your fix list: the critical items first. If you would rather have someone fix them, an app rescue starts with an audit of exactly these areas, from $1,000 at a fixed price.

Rather have it fixed for you?

Send me your results and I'll reply with what to fix first and a fixed price. App rescues start from $1,000.
