What I build

Software for manufacturing and wholesale

B2B ordering portal

Trade customers log in, see their own prices and reorder in a few clicks.

Order management

Orders from the portal, email, phone and sales reps in one list, validated and ready to pick.

Inventory dashboards

Stock levels, reorder points and slow movers across warehouses.

Quotes and price lists

Customer-specific pricing and quotes that turn into orders.

Sales rep tools

Reps take orders and check stock from a phone browser at the customer.

Account applications

New trade accounts apply and sign online, with an approval view for your team.

AI, right now

Where AI genuinely helps

Many small manufacturers and distributors still take trade orders as downloadable PDF forms, emails and phone calls, then retype them. 2026 guides describe the standard now expected: self-service portals with customer-specific pricing, real-time stock and order management that pulls every channel into one place.

I haven’t built for a manufacturer or distributor yet, so I won’t pretend otherwise. What I bring is the same building blocks I’ve shipped for real clients, shown below.

  • Emailed orders into the system

Orders arriving by email or PDF read by AI and turned into draft orders for a person to confirm.

  • Reorder suggestions

Customers and reps prompted with what each account usually orders and when.

  • Demand forecasting

Stock suggestions from sales history, so you reorder before you run out.

  • Product data clean-up

Descriptions and attributes standardised across your catalogue.

Similar work

Data, security and access

  • Each customer sees only their own prices, orders and documents.
  • Integrates with your ERP or accounting system through APIs or exports.
  • AI-drafted orders are confirmed by a person before they're processed.
  • Every order change is logged.

How a project runs

  1. Call

A 30-minute call about what you need, who it is for, and what success looks like.

  2. Scope

A written scope: features, architecture, timeline, price range and risks.

  3. Build

Working increments you can click through, not a big reveal at the end.

  4. Ship

Live on your domain and hosting, with a handover so you know how it runs.

Questions

Common questions

Do we need to replace our ERP?

No. A portal and order tools usually sit in front of your ERP or accounting system and pass orders into it.

Why custom instead of a B2B e-commerce platform?

If a platform fits, use it. Custom software suits complex pricing, unusual ordering rules or a mix of channels that platforms handle poorly.

Can customers keep ordering by email?

Yes. AI can read those emails and create draft orders, so customers don't have to change how they order on day one.

How much does it cost?

A focused first version is a fixed-price project, scoped and priced after a 30-minute call (MVPs start from $3,000). Ongoing work can run on a monthly retainer.

Still taking orders by PDF, email and phone?

A 30-minute call is enough to tell whether it fits, what the first version should include, and how long it takes.
